The winner may be required to complete and submit an IRS Form W-9 with the winner’s full Social Security Number or the equivalent for receipt of any prize and will be required to complete and submit an IRS form w-9 with the winner’s full social security number or the equivalent for receipt of any prize valued at $600 or more or for any prizes awarded by the station (or any other CBS radio station in station’s market) in a calendar year with an aggregate value of $600 or more. Failure to submit a complete W-9 or equivalent will result in forfeiture of the prize. Such winnings of $600 or more will be reported to the IRS.

b.
d. If for any reason this Promotion cannot be executed as planned, including but not limited to, as a result of infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Released Parties that corrupt or affect the security, administration, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Promotion, or if the Promotion is compromised or becomes technically corrupted in any way, electronically or otherwise, the Station reserves the right to cancel, terminate, suspend, and/or modify the Promotion. If the Promotion is terminated before the original end date, the Station reserves the right, in its sole discretion to, to modify the procedure for selecting winners, unless the nature of the event giving rise to such termination renders it impossible to select winner(s).

e. The Released Parties are not responsible for (i) typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering, or the administration of the Promotion or in the announcement of a prize; (ii) incorrect or inaccurate entry information, human error, failure, or omission; (iii) unauthorized human intervention; (iv) lost, stolen, mangled, misdirected, postage due, illegible, incomplete, or late entries; (v) entries not received due to difficulty accessing the internet, service outage or delays, computer difficulties and other technological problems or for telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, poor signals or signal interference, accidental disconnection, equipment malfunctions, and any other technological failures of any kind; or (vi) any cancellations, delays, diversions, or substitutions or omissions whatsoever by any transportation providers or any other persons or entities providing any services to winner(s) (and guest(s), if applicable) including any results thereof such as changes in services or location necessitated by same. Further, the Released Parties are not responsible if any part of a Promotion prize that cannot be awarded due to acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather, acts of terrorism, or other factors beyond the Released Parties’ control.

f. The use of any device to automate entry is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Online entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices will be disqualified at the Station’s discretion. The Promotion administrator’s computer or telephone system is the official time keeping device for this Promotion. For phone or mobile entries, the authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the text or mobile telephone number by a telecommunications provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning such numbers. The Station, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Station’s website. Failure to comply with the rules of the Promotion may result in an entrant’s disqualification and/or forfeiture of any prize or prizes. If the Station makes a good faith determination that an entrant has cheated or committed fraudulent activity in connection with a Promotion, the Station reserves the right to disqualify that entrant from entering and/or winning this and future Station-administered Promotions and to prosecute and seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.

g. The Station reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the Promotion, including, without limitation, the substitution of a prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement. If due to circumstances beyond the control of the Promotion Entities, any competition or prize-related event or travel is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, the Station reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel, terminate, suspend, or modify the Promotion and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.

h. Except where prohibited, by entering the Promotion, each entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion or any Prize (s) shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by state or federal courts situated in New York, NY; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event shall such costs include attorneys’ fees; and (3) no punitive, incidental, special, consequential or other damages, including, without limitation, lost profits may be awarded (collectively, “Special Damages”). Further, by entering the Promotion, each entrant waives all rights to claim Special Damages and all rights to have such damages multiplied or increased.

A sold out Staples Center on Monday night proved The Rolling Stones still pack a punch, albeit an expensive one.

It was the final of four Southern California ’50 And Counting’ shows at major venues. Floor level seats ran about $600 for this one, that is for “legitimate” tickets. Some people actually only paid $85, but didn’t know where they would sit, until the night of the show. For all of us who were there, (in any seat), it was a loud, great night with the original bad boys of Rock n’ Roll. The show started an hour late, but that was actually 1/2 hour less wait than 2006, at their last LA appearance.

Hard to believe these guys are (1) still playing, and (2) still ALIVE… some 50 years later. The Rolling Stones, along with The Beatles and Eric Burdon’s Animals were the very first English bands to appreciate African-American Blues and Soul music. They repackaged those sounds, and actually introduced them to white American audiences. Heavily influenced by Solomon Burke, Etta James, Tina Turner, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard, they received radio play in the US, when many of our own black artists didn’t. Their song “All Down the line” tells this story best.

I first saw The Rolling Stones on their 1972 tour, which also featured Stevie Wonder just as he was changing his music to the more progressive style he still has today. One of the 1972 highlights was (then) Rolling Stone guitarist Mick Taylor, who joined the band by replacing founding member Brian Jones, when he was only 20 years old. Taylor really stood out in the 1972 show, and is back as a guest artist for the 50 years and Counting Tour. He appeared for at least three songs including “Sway,” “Midnight Rambler,” and “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking.”

Original Rolling Stones Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and drummer Charlie Watts haven’t slowed a bit. Watts is still stoic and methodical at his task, but I did actually catch him smiling once. Sadly, original bass guitar man Bill Wyman made the London shows, but not the LA concerts. Vocalist Lisa Fisher added her piercing vocals (mixed with Jagger’s), on my very favorite Stone’s song “Gimme Shelter.” They didn’t do this one at the LA show on the 2006 tour. Linda has toured with the group singing back-up since 1989. Merry Clayton sang on the original recording of “Gimme Shelter” in 1969.

Saxophonist Bobby Keys was born on the same day as Keith Richards. They met in 1964 at a teen fair. Bobby has played sax on many famous Rolling Stones songs including “Brown Sugar.” Bobby was also on the 1972 tour, and has played with John Lennon, and many famous early Rock and Roller’s including Elvis Presley, Dion, and Buddy Holly. Bobby’s presence was strongly felt once again at this show.

“Paint it Black,” “Honky Tonk Women,” “Tumbling Dice,” “Miss You” and “Start Me Up” never sounded better. The much demanded encore was a stirring performance of “You Can’t Always Get What you Want” featuring the USC Thornton Chamber Singers.

The current Rolling Stone’s tour has already featured many celebrity guest artists including Keith Urban, Gwen Stefani, Bonnie Raitt, John Fogerty, Katy Perry, Dave Grohl (from Foo Fighters) and John Mayer. Jagger said the audience was the guest artist at the Monday night show. Fine with me, as The Rolling Stones need no guest artist.

That’s why they are called The World’s Greatest Rock And Roll Band!

After canceling two shows last week due to “medical reasons,” Aretha Franklin has announced she’s taking off the month of June and will resume her scheduled tour in July, according to Rolling Stone.

A spokesperson for Franklin said that the 71-year-old singer will reschedule her two dates from May 20th in Chicago and May 26th in Connecticut and pick up the remainder of her tour in July.

Franklin announced the canceled dates earlier this month to seek medical treatment under doctor’s recommendations for an unspecified health issue. This isn’t the first time the Queen of Soul had to postpone shows due to medical reasons in recent years. Franklin previously canceled a tour in 2010 to undergo surgery for a pain her side, which sparked rumors that she was seeking treatment for pancreatic cancer.

Though her health has posed some interference with shows in the past, Franklin has never been interested in divulging specific details of her health with the media. After her surgery in 2010, Franklin told Jet magazine that she doesn’t “talk about my health with anybody other than my doctors” and only revealed that “the problem has been resolved.”

Last week, Franklin appeared in good health when performing on the season finale of American Idol via satellite singing a medley of her greatest hits with the female finalists.

Michael Bublè believes his latest album, To Be Loved, is his best yet. And he owes it all to a very public breakup five years ago.

The Canadian crooner told Vanity Fair that after breaking off his engagement with actress Emily Blunt in 2008, he was heartbroken and insecure.

“I was not a happy man for many years,” he said. “I never thought I could hold a relationship. No way. Because how could anyone love me if I didn’t? That sounds like a shrink would say it, but it’s the truth.”

After the break-up Bublè began to really look at himself and realize that he wasn’t getting any younger. He told the mag that fame can stunt your growth and he knew he needed to become an adult. Bublè even started reading the self-help book The Power of Now, which is all about spiritual thinking. He says the Oprah-recommended book was something he needed at the time.

“I started reading it, and I believed in it,” Bublè explained. “I started practicing it, and it was as simple as just being in the moment and being thankful for what I had and every day trying to be grateful and to try to work on myself. It was such a slow process, but it changed my life.”

He added, “Literally. If you talk to my mom and dad, they’ll tell you that I’m a different son. I’m present.”

Everyone loves grabbing dinner or drinks out in a restaurant from time to time, but these days many are getting an unpleasant surprise when the check comes around. After all is said and done, dinner and drinks for two, plus the tip can end up costing an arm and a leg, but it doesn’t always have to.

We came across these great tips on how to avoid making big money mistakes when dining out on Oprah.com so you can lower that food bill without sacrificing your dining experience.

Making reservations over the phone

Instead of making reservations over the phone, use an online service like Savored or Open Table to find availability at a restaurant. These services also reward you with a discount on the bill if you reserve through them so your meal will cost less!

Walking in hungry

They say never to grocery shop while hungry and the same goes for dining out. Restaurant consultant Aaron Allen says a common mistake is over-ordering when you come to a restaurant famished. To avoid over-eating and over-paying, Allen suggests eating a small snack before you leave or splitting an appetizer to save on your wallet and appetite.

“Hoodwinked” by a smiley face

According to Allen, customers tend to tip more for service when the gratuity is suggested on the bill, but he suggests to tip based on the service itself, not the suggestions. Studies have also shown that customers are likely to tip 18 percent more when the server draws a smiley face on the check.

Drinking the house wine

Beware ordering the house wine at a restaurant, according to Allen, these wines are usually the worst value on the menu and the mark-up on the bottles are often high because restaurants know they’re an easy sell. Instead, he suggests to consider the imported wine selection like Chilean varieties or Malbecs since they’ve become more reasonable in price.

Ordering the wrong Vodka

When ordering a mixed drink, often times your server will ask which brand of Vodka or spirit you want in your drink. To lower you drink bill, go for the whatever is in the “well” instead of a premium spirit, which mixes fine with a tonic or juice, but costs about two-thirds less.

The destruction left behind after the storm is tough to watch, but through it all, amazing stories of survival and rescues have been coming out, like this happy ending for a victim and her pet dog.

You’ve most likely have seen this viral video make its rounds yesterday, but it’s worth to watch again and again. A tornado survivor who thought she lost her pet dog was being interviewed by CBS News when all of a sudden, her dog was found alive underneath the rubble of her former home.

Barbara Garcia told her story of being caught in the tornado’s path and how she took cover, adding that she lost her beloved pet dog in the chaos.

But in a miraculous moment on camera, someone spotted the dog under debris of the house and it was pulled to safety.

“Well, I thought God just answered one prayer – to let me be okay,” she said to CBS News. “But he answered both of them, because this was my second prayer.”

Watch her amazing story below (skip to the 1:30 mark for the dog).

Nothing makes people come together like a crisis, and boy, do we have a crisis on our hands. The Tornado; allow me to alter that, the monster tornado that ripped through our country’s mid-section for 40 minutes yesterday was horrific!

I finally had to turn the TV off. I just couldn’t watch anymore. Remember how it was after the Northridge earthquake? The massive overload of grief coming through the news, just too much for my brain to handle.

Again, the American Red Cross is stepping up to help. You can help, too. Join the vampire line as they need blood – all types! And they need money -that one is super easy.

Grab your phone and text “RED CROSS” to 90999 and instantly donate $10.00. Ten bucks – that’s two lattes at the fancy coffee house or 5 power-ball tickets or a new tube of lip stick. Okay, that one will make you look amazing but I still think the American Red Cross is a better bet.

There are other ways to help and donate as well – see our guide of disaster relief agencies to help those affected by the tornado.

Next blog I’ll tell you how to teach your kids to ride a two wheeled bike without training wheels! Oh yes, you can do it and so can they!

Smooches!

Robin Thicke is known for his soulful music but this time around it’s his music video that’s making headlines.

The unrated version of “Blurred Lines,” which Thicke premiered April, features several women sans clothing. YouTube quickly banned the naked clip, but not before it racked up more than one million hits.

“We just had a great feeling about the song,” Thicke told Carson Daly. “I made it last summer. I mean, I had it for about eight or nine months and Jimmy Iovine liked it, but nobody was really jumping all around the place for it.”

“And then we shot the video and Jimmy called me seven seconds into the video and he said, ‘This is a smash! This video is amazing!’”
