Interview: Jessy J Talks About Giving Back During the Holidays & More with Pat Prescott

AMP

Jessy J is the pride and joy of Hemet, California where she grew up and began her journey as a saxophone player.  She’s come a long way since then and is now celebrating the release of a brand new Christmas CD, a productive career year and a new husband.  We talked about it all as she prepares to take the stage this Sunday evening at Spaghettini in Seal Beach for her CD release party.

Jessy got married earlier this year.  Of course I had to find out everything about the new hubby.  His name is David and he’s from Nicaragua. They met at the Dodger’s Ping Pong Challenge.  Later they dated and the rest is history.

2016 has been a very productive year for Jessy career wise too.  It culminated with the release of a brand new Christmas album entitled California Christmas, which debuted on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart  at #3 and is getting a lot of airplay across the country.

Jessy believes the holidays are all about giving back to the community.  Since music brings joy to people, especially during the holidays, for the past three years she has been taking her band to do a free Christmas show for the Union Rescue Mission in downtown LA.  The music brings holiday cheer to homeless Angelenos who are helped by the Mission and its services.

Jessy will be performing this Sunday at Spaghettini in Seal Beach.  It’s her Christmas CD release party.  There are only a few seats left.  Get in the holiday spirit with Jessy J and check out the link to her latest video from the new CD.
