LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — The Playboy mansion is no longer on the L.A. real estate market.
The Wall Street Journal reports the Holmby Hills estate has been sold to a buyer who owns an adjacent property for an undisclosed price. The approximately 20,000-square-foot, 29-room mansion had been listed for $200 million, according to The Journal.
The buyer was identified as Hefner’s next-door neighbor Daren Metropoulos, who reportedly purchased his current resident from Hefner for around $18 million in 2009.
As a condition of the sale, Playboy Magazine founder Hefner would be allowed to continue living at the mansion he purchased 45 years ago for just over $1 million.
Following Hefner’s tenancy, Metropoulos plans to connect the estate with his current home to make a roughly 7-acre compound, according to The Journal.
