I’ve known Najee for most of our careers. We kind of grew up in the business together.
I remember playing his debut record when I was working at a station in new York. Over the years, I’ve watched his career blossom as his fans around the world continue to increase.
I believe a big part of Najee’s longevity can be attributed to his talent; he is a master of the saxophone and also an accomplished flute player as well. But you can’t deny the appeal of his warm personality and his consistently excellent live performances.
You can depend on Najee to put on a great show. That’s why he’s been invited back this year to play the Long Beach Jazz Festival.
Najee and I reminisced over old times in a recent conversation and caught up on what’s going on with his kids, his latest successful release “The Morning After: A Musical Journey” and how technology is changing the music business.
Don’t miss Najee’s performance on Saturday August 9th at the Long Beach Jazz Festival in Rainbow Lagoon Park.
