Comedian George Wallace has a lot to be happy about these days. He’s an admired comedian by fans and peers alike; he has a Las Vegas show residency at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino, and now he has a brand new book just released that’s all about the importance to Laff It Off! when faced with obstacles in life.
“It’s easier to be happy, there’s less muscles used when you laugh. Laughter is the greatest medicine,” he said. “We don’t stop laughing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop laughing. It is so important to laugh.”
To tell us about his new book Laff It Off!, George paid a visit to The WAVE studios with Pat Prescott to talk a little more in detail about the book’s concept.
George tells us that he’s wanted to write a “feel good book” for the past eight years now that also serves as a teaching tool for both the young and the old on “how to enjoy life.”
In his book, George shares his personal secrets to his own success after working hard to achieve his dreams though he was “dealt a bad hand” in life. He also shares his “ten commandments” on living life to the fullest, which includes taking a day off from stresses in life to focus on yourself.
He also tells Pat that there’s no time in life to dwell over the little things, citing bad L.A. traffic as an example, and to just laugh it off instead.
“That’s where I am today. Treating people right, doing people right, laughing it off,” he said. “That’s what the book is all about. It’s inspirational. It’s self-help. It is a good read.”
George will be appearing for a special Los Angeles event this Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood for a comedy show and book signing. Tickets cost just $10 for the show and copy of his new book that he will personally sign at the event.
