Mary J. Blige To Sing National Anthem At Game 1 Of The World Series

Mary J. Blige scored a major league gig as the performer of the National Anthem for game one of the World Series on Wednesday, reports USA Today.

Game one of the series between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals kicks off Wednesday at Boston’s Fenway Park and will air on Fox at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Mary, who recently released her first holiday album A Mary Christmas on Oct. 15, will do the pre-game honor of singing the National Anthem before millions of viewers.

This isn’t her first time on the field either. Back in 2009, Mary sang the”Star Spangled Banner” before game six of the World Series between the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies at Yankee Stadium.

If it’s anything like her last World Series performance, we’re expecting another home run from Mary.
