There’s a new talk show host in town and her name is Queen Latifah! The revived Queen Latifah Show debuted on Monday with special high-profile guests John Travolta, Willow Smith and Alicia Keys.
Latifah kicked off the show with a little song and dance strutting into her new set (designed by friend and fellow musician Lenny Kravitz) to the Bee Gee’s “Stayin’ Alive,” an appropriate choice to welcome her first guest, John Travolta.
Travolta sat down with Latifah for a candid conversation about his career, family life and what’s in store for the future. The musical guest was pop star Willow Smith, who debuted her new song “Summer Fling.”
One of the touching highlights from the show was a segment that invited a Southern California High School Band to perform with Alicia Keys in studio. While the Foshay High School Band was in the recording studio with Keys, Latifah sent people over to give the school’s music room a much-deserved makeover.
Guests rounding out the rest of the Queen’s first week include Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, Sharon Stone, Jamie Foxx and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Tune in to The Queen Latifah Show weekdays at 2 p.m. on CBS2 or 7 p.m. on KCAL9.
