It seems as though Toni Braxton has had a change of heart about turning her back on music, because the six-time Grammy winner has decided to step out from her brief retirement and back into the studio.
After announcing plans to walk away from music to pursue acting back in February, Braxton surprised fans with the announcement of a new musical project with none other than her longtime producer and collaborator, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds.
During the season finale of her hit WE TV show Braxton Family Values earlier this month, Braxton revealed that she’s reuniting with Babyface to record a new album. The singer has already released promotional items on her website and social media pages teasing the album’s release for this September.

The duo has a history of producing hits together with Babyface serving as the executive producer on Braxton’s first three albums Toni Braxton, Secrets and The Heat. Those albums spawned several of Braxton’s biggest hits including “Breathe Again,” “Un-Break My Heart” and “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”
Babyface recently told music site Rap-Up about the album’s concept, saying that “the whole perspective is guy and girl, Mars vs. Venus. Even if you’re in love, you’re in love for different reasons.”
Though she still may have her hesitations about making a musical comeback, Braxton added that collaborating with Babyface on a topic they both can relate on has made the transition easier.
“I think because Babyface and I have both gone through divorces, we can relate and we can collaborate together on this topic and make it so others who have gone through this situation can relate,” Toni said.
