The 28th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony will be held at the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live on Thursday April 18th, 2013.
This year’s event includes a star-studded list of performers to honor the new class of inductees. Artists scheduled to perform at the ceremony include Usher, who will perform for Quincy Jones, and a special tribute by Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson to honor the late Donna Summer.
Carol King is slated to perform for Lou Adler, who produced her iconic album Tapestry, while Cheech and Chong get to present Adler with his award. Jackson Browne and John Fogerty will perform with Randy Newman, John Mayer and Gary Clark Jr. will perform for Albert King and Spike Lee and Harry Belafonte will also pay tribute to Public Enemy.
This is the second time the ceremony has been held in Los Angeles because most of the performers, presenters and crew are L.A. based. The event is usually held at New York’s Waldorf Astoria and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland hosts the event every third year.
The inductee class of 2013 includes classic rock bands Rush and Heart, composer Randy Newman, legendary hip hop group Public Enemy, Donna Summer, bluesman Albert King. The Ahmet Ertgun award for Lifetime Achievement winners are iconic producers Lou Adler and Quincy Jones.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will air on HBO on Saturday May 18th, at 9 P.M. ET/PT. For more information on this year’s inductees and ceremony, click here.
