As we have said many times over the past 12 years, you never know who will drop in at The WAVE’s Sunday Brunch at Spaghettini!
The Brunch had been sold out all day, and was in its final hour when we had a very nice surprise, Evelyn “Champagne” King and guitarist Freddie Fox jammed with DW3 tearing the roof off the house. Evelyn and Freddie also joined me for an on-air interview in the 2pm hour.
Bill told Evelyn that the dance mix of her first big hit “Shame”, was a constant best seller all thru the 1980s and 1990s at his record store. Evelyn said she was only 15 when she first made the record back in 1978. Bill told Evelyn that he was also 15 at the time. Neither one of them believed each other. The truth is, Evelyn was about 18 when “Shame” first hit the charts. Bill won’t say how old he was.
Evelyn’s great voice and Freddie’s magic guitar will soon be back for a full show at Spaghettini. Go to spaghettini.com for the complete schedule.
