Adele has a date with Oscar.
The singer will take the stage at this year’s Academy Awards on February 24 to sing “Skyfall,” her nominated theme song from the latest Bond movie.
Though Adele’s appearance at the Golden Globes, where she took home a statue for Best Song, marked her first public appearance since having her baby boy in October, the Oscars will be the first time she has sung live in the U.S. since last year’s GRAMMY’s, where she took home six awards.
The appearance will also be the first time Adele has ever sung “Skyfall” in front of a live audience.
“It’s an honor to be nominated, and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again,” she said in a statement. “It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once!”
This year’s awards show will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Bond franchise, which is the longest running in motion picture history. Though the producers of the broadcast have not said what the tribute will detail, many speculate fans will see all of the actors who have played Bonds on stage together.
Adele’s Best Song nomination is the franchise’s first since Sheena Easton was nominated for 1981 theme, “For Your Eyes Only.” Though a total of three Bond themes have previously been nominated, none have won an Oscar.
Watch the 85th Academy Awards, hosted by Seth MacFarlane, February 24 on ABC to see if Adele can finally pull off a win for Bond.
