Guitar legend George Benson is taking on a new project he’s been very passionate about for some time and is asking for his fans to be a part of its creation from the very beginning!
Benson will be recording a tribute album in memory of the great Nat King Cole with the backing of a 42 piece orchestra, but instead of releasing traditional bonus features along with the project, he’s getting fans in on some special offers.
He and his label Concord Records have teamed up with the fundraising site PledgeMusic.com allowing fans to contribute to the making of the album, while receiving a special thank you in return.
“Since this is a very unique and special project to me and I am blessed by many good friends who have supported me along the way, I wanted to give my fans a chance to take part in something unique and special, too,” Benson wrote in a message on his website.
Some of the offers fans are eligible to receive for their pledges include Benson personally autographing CDs and Vinyl, listing your name in the album credits, giving a guitar lesson via Skype, and you can even purchase his Ibanez LGB300 signature guitar which will be personally signed over a Skype chat.
So far, the response has been huge with some of these exclusive offers already sold out and more than half the pledge goal raised.
An added bonus for those who contribute to the project, some of the proceeds raised will be donated towards Hurricane Sandy relief through the MusiCares charity.
