Hot off of taking The WAVE stage at the Taste of Soul Festival in October, jazz vocalist Spencer Day shared some exciting news with fans that he’ll be releasing his third album, The Mystery of You early next year!

According to SJN, Spencer’s follow up album to 2009′s Vagabond will be out on March 13, 2013 on Concord Jazz, and will be a more personal record for the singer. The songs are inspired by his experience with heart-break in a past relationship and how he grew from that experience.

“It’s been one of the hardest things I’ve ever dealt with in my adult life, but it’s also been a huge opportunity for growth,” he said. “Each of these songs represents a different phase in that growth process. Along the way, I really started trying to understand my own psychology.”

For fans who can’t get enough of seeing Spencer live, he’s currently playing an artist residency starting tonight at the Rockwell: Table & Stage in Los Feliz with free shows every Wednesday in November. Click here for more information on the shows.
