Red Velvet Gourmet Sloppy Joes from Veronica Hendrix
Ingredients:
2 tablespoon olive oil
4 tablespoon dehydrated, minced onion
2 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 – 15 oz can tomato sauce
1 pound ground turkey
3 tablespoons Red Velvet Gourmet Spice
Rub & Seasoning
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons water
¼ teaspoon ground pepper
Directions:
Add olive oil to heated skillet. Add minced onion and stir until well coated and heated, but not brown. Sprinkle with salt and add
minced garlic and stir to infuse oil.
Add ground turkey, breaking up meat and cook until done. Do not drain. Add Red Velvet Gourmet Spice Rub & Seasoning, Dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar and water.
Bring to a quick boil, then reduce heat to medium. Simmer 15-20 minutes or until liquid evaporates, stirring frequently. Serve on toasted buns or Kaiser rolls, toast Artisan bread for a more updated version.
Top with shredded cheddar or Parmesan cheese and fresh green onion (optional). Serves 6. For parties, try as sliders. Simply place mixture on dinner rolls.
