Yesterday we told you about the arrest of singer [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]El DeBarge[/lastfm] on charges of drug possession earlier this week, but now the court has cleared the singer of all charges.

TMZ reports that the official D.A. records show that the case was dropped due to insufficient evidence to charge DeBarge with possession of drugs.

The court records state that police noticed 50-year-old DeBarge and another man acting suspiciously by White Oak Avenue near the 101 freeway in Encino during the afternoon on Monday. Police then searched them, but came up with nothing. The police then claim that they searched the surrounding area and found a bag of rock cocaine hidden in a car nearby.

The man with DeBarge claimed he was there to buy cocaine from the singer, but DeBarge denied the charges. The D.A. dropped the case citing there wasn’t enough evidence to make the drug charges stick.
