Video: Adele Gives The Finger To BRIT Awards Camera After Acceptance Speech Is Cut Short
She may look sweet and innocent on the outside, but many fans know [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Adele[/lastfm] is certainly full of feist on the inside, and the “suits” at the BRIT Awards on Tuesday learned first hand what happens when they set the singer off.
While delivering her heartfelt acceptance speech for the top award for British Album of the Year for ’21,’ Adele was cut short by host James Corden to usher in the ceremony-closing performance by British rock band, Blur. But not before Adele could give the cameras a little piece of her mind first.
Adele gushed during her speech, “Thank you very, very much. Nothing is better than coming home with six GRAMMYs and winning Album of the Year. Nothing makes me prouder than to be British.”
That’s when Adele heartily gave TV cameras ‘the bird’ after being interrupted by the host and cut short during her acceptance speech.
“I was cut off during my speech but I wanted to thank the British public for all their support,” Adele said in a press conference after the show. “I was held up with my voice and troubles but the album kept walking without me. I flipped the bird for the suits at the BRITS who cut me off. Sorry if I offended anyone but it was for them, not for the fans.”
I think she got her point across, and the “suits” will think twice before cutting Adele off ever again. Adele also picked up an award for British Female Solo Artist during the ceremony. You can watch the whole event unfold in the video below.
