Shocking! Patti LaBelle Sued For Allegedly Throwing Water/Screaming At Mother And Baby

Soul diva [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Patti LaBelle[/lastfm] lost control of her cool in an incident at her temporary residence at a Manhattan apartment on Monday, and now she’s been hit with a lawsuit.

LaBelle, known for diva antics in the past, has been accused of screaming obscenities and throwing water at an 18-month old baby and her mother and then later tried to take a swing at the mother.

Parents Kevin and Roseanna Monk filed a lawsuit against LaBelle after the diva allegedly attacked her and her then 18-month old daughter, Genevieve.

The Monks claim LaBelle, dressed in full diva attire in big shades and fur coat, started screaming at the mother when she saw her child running around the apartment lobby in November.

“‘What are you doing letting your kid run around like that?'” The Monks’ lawyer Sam Davis quoted LaBelle as asking Roseanna Monk.

The claims also state that LaBelle began “screaming at my client, throwing water from a bottle at the mother’s face and the baby’s face,” according to Davis.

“‘Are you happy that this is what you have done to this baby?!'” Davis said Roseanna Monk asked the singer. That’s when Monk said the singer “tried to take a swing” at her.

LaBelle was then escorted by her entourage into a black car and left the apartment building where she has temporarily been staying at during her stint in the Broadway play Fela!

The Monks stated they would have accepted an apology from the singer after the altercation, but after learning of a separate incident of LaBelle’s hairdresser and bodyguard assaulting a West Point cadet, they decided to sue.

“Violence seems to be part of their road show,” said Davis. What do you think of these allegations against LaBelle? Is she a diva out of control?
