[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Christina Aguilera[/lastfm] has had her fair share of headlining making escapades these past few weeks (though it hasn’t surmounted over Charlie Sheen’s media takeover), but now the singer is back on her way up.
It has been confirmed that Aguilera will join [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cee Lo Green[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=""]Maroon 5[/lastfm]‘s Adam Levine at the judges table for the upcoming singing competition The Voice on NBC.
The new singing competition produced by Mark Burnett (Survivor/The Apprentice) has some big names to back up the judges table, and Christina is just as excited to start as a coach/judge for the show.
“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it,” Aguilera said in a statement. “To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms. I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to ‘The Voice.’”
In Burnett’s mind, there was no other choice for the female coach on the show telling EW, “I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera.”
He continued, “Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of The Voice.”
We can’t wait to see how the show rivals compared to its American Idol competitor. The Voice is set to premiere on April 26 on NBC!
